Boron Trioxide (B2O3)

Product description
Chinese name: boron trioxide
English name: Boron oxide
Alias: boron oxide, boron anhydride, boric anhydride, anhydrous boric acid
Features: strong water absorption
Content: 99.5%
Executive standard: Q/TY-J08.04-2010
HS Code: 2810001000
CAS number: 1303-86-2

Boron trioxide (also known as boron oxide/boric anhydride), colorless glassy crystal or powder, melting point 450℃. It has strong water absorption and is converted into boric acid, so it should be stored in a dry environment to prevent the content from being degraded due to water absorption. It is slightly soluble in cold water and easily soluble in hot water. The surface is greasy and can be reduced to single boron by alkali metals or magnesium and aluminum at high temperature. Oxidation is soluble in acid, ethanol, hot water, slightly soluble in cold water, and can be combined with several metals to form boron glass with characteristic colors, which is completely miscible with oxides of alkali, metallic copper, silver, aluminum, arsenic, and tin. The density of crystalline boron oxide is 2.46g/cm3, the density of amorphous boron oxide is 1.80-1.84g/cm3, melting point: 557°C, solubility: (g/100gH20): 1.1 (0°C) 15.7 (100°C) extremely It is easy to absorb water, becomes cloudy after absorbing temperature, and can also be dissolved in alcohol. When the temperature is low, the dehydration of H3BO3 can obtain boron trioxide crystals. This crystal contains BO4 tetrahedral structural unit, the density is 1.805g/cm3, the melting point is 450℃, the density of glassy boron oxide is 1.795g/cm3, it gradually softens when the temperature rises, and becomes liquid when it reaches the red hot high temperature, the boiling point is 1500 °C. Boron is also directly combined with oxygen to obtain B2O3. Our company also produces electronic grade boric anhydride and industrial grade boric anhydride with low iron content, which can meet the production needs of customers.

Scope of application
1. It is used as a co-solvent in the decomposition of silicate, and the main raw material for preparing elemental boron and various borides.
2. Dopants in semiconductor materials, catalysts for organic synthesis, and raw materials for enamels. (For example, when using the Czochralski method to grow GaAs single crystals, in order to prevent the decomposition of the GaAs melt, a layer of molten B2O3 is often covered on the surface of the GaAs melt [at this time, the crucible holding the GaAs melt needs to use a graphite crucible or Pyrolysis BN crucible instead of quartz crucible].)
3. It is used as a raw material for chemical heat treatment of boron solvent in the machinery industry.
4. In the metallurgical industry, alloy steel is used to produce high-energy fuels.
5. It has applications in other sectors of the national economy, as well as in the atomic energy industry and the electronics industry.
6. Heat-resistant glassware, ceramics, paint refractory additives, solder additives and additives for high-temperature lubricants.
7. Stable raw materials and added raw materials in industrial glass manufacturing.
8. Boric anhydride can be used as material for producing and processing cables.
9. Boric anhydride also plays an important role in dyes and is an indispensable raw material in dyes.

Storage method
1. Store in a cool, ventilated and dry warehouse.
2. This product is used in a dry place, and recrystallization and agglomeration will occur when the humidity changes dramatically.
3. When storing, pay attention to the environment where the principle changes drastically, and ensure the intact packaging.
4. Avoid rain during transportation, so as not to affect product quality due to moisture absorption, and cannot be mixed with strong oxidants.
The shelf life of this product is 3 months, and it can still be used if it passes the re-inspection after the expiration date.

Safety instructions
1. This product is exported as general cargo, not to be swallowed, inhaled, or in contact with eyes. When operating, wear safety goggles, dust masks, rubber gloves, etc.
2. If accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention in time, transfer to fresh air and rest. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with running water.
3. Do not let undiluted or large quantities of products contact groundwater, water pipes or sewage systems if the water is slightly harmful, and do not discharge materials into the surrounding environment without government permission.
